Roger Veitch has always had a passion for boatbuilding. At just 14, he crafted a cedar and spruce sailing boat with his father—a project that set the course for a career on the water. He began at Hart Marine, pioneers in carbon fibre technology for ocean racing, where he learned how to build vessels that are strong, light, and built to perform in the harshest conditions.

Roger’s fascination with composite materials led him to high-performance racing car parts, but the ocean kept calling. Inspired to blend cutting-edge design with real-world utility, he set out to build a lightweight, high-tech fishing boat—the result was the Veitch 27.

Launched in 2017 in a modest Bairnsdale workshop with two employees, the company has since grown into a 2,000sqm state-of-the-art facility equipped with overhead cranes and hydronic floor heating. Today, Roger leads a 20-person team focused on one goal: crafting high-quality boats with the precision of a racing yacht—and building a business that grows steadily and sustainably.
