Purchase and sail a classic. .
Specs for SV Diana - NSW Registration D31184N
'Formosa 41' ketch - built at Formosa Shipyard, Taiwan, 1974, designed by William Gardner of USA.
12.5m LOA, 3.7m Beam, 1.88m draft, approx 13 tonne dead weight.
Present owner purchased Diana in 2006 and commenced extensive overhaul costing approx $150,000.
Work at the time included removing the engine (Perkins diesel model 4108) and having it overhauled to factory specifications by Maitland Diesel.
The two aluminium masts were removed, stripped, re-powder-coated and new rigging fitted and re-installed on new hardwood footing pads
New profurl furler also installed at this time.
The original cockpit was cut out, removed and re-constructed, (including all structural items below) and finished off with new teak decking.
Fuel tank capacity 400ltres.
Water tank capacity 400+ litres.

A 'large bowl' electric toilet (TMC brand) was installed and a new electric motor/machinator has recently been fitted.
Walk-in shower compartment.
Full headroom in galley, saloon, head, forward cabins

Two 2-speed Hutten electric winches (port and starboard in cockpit) were installed to handle genoa. Also used to wind in the headsail furler and to hoist the mainsail.
Numerous other shipwright and mechanic work was carried out during this period, including stainless-steel davits fitted to the stern with solar panel.
A 'Coursemaster 850i' hydraulic auto-pilot was fitted in 2007
An AIS system was fitted in 2012.
3 Bilge pumps (manual plus two electric, - of which one is new. )
New sails and sail covers were purchased in 2018.
A new propeller was purchased from DH Porters in 2018, and the prop shaft was also sent to DH Porters and tested and straightened if any imperfections were found.
A new (Spruce) bowsprit was constructed and fitted in 2018 and new stainless steel pulpit was also constructed and fitted at the time to complete the job.
During the past three years a new shaft prop-seal has been fitted, new electric motor in the Maxwell windlass, plus new gypsy wheel to accommodate new 55m length of 10mm chain plus a new plough anchor.
In May 2022 new cable wires were fitted to the steering quadrant and a new cutlass bearing fitted to the propeller shaft.
In June 2022 a new electric motor was fitted to the toilet.
In July 2022 a new computer was installed for the Coursemaster 850i autohelm.
3 new AGM deep cycle house batteries installed in 2022.
New starter motor and alternator fitted in 2024 including new starter battery.
'Diana' was last hauled out for professional anti-foul in September 2024. Hull was scraped right back, is in excellent condition, no signs of blisters etc. Will stand any inspection.
