Aquila Catamarans has introduced the 45 Sport power catamaran at the Palm Beach International Boat Show 2026 (PBIBS). As the largest addition to the Aquila Sport lineup, the model joins a trio of performance-driven vessels built for excitement on the water.

With its wide beam delivering enhanced stability and strong seakeeping performance, the 45 Sport blends comfort with high-energy boating. Developed in collaboration with Florida-based Yacht Design Works, its aesthetic draws inspiration from luxury SUVs, featuring bold styling and a commanding on-water presence.

Entertainment and Onboard Lifestyle

The aft cockpit serves as the primary social zone aboard the 45 Sport. Hydraulic flip-down terraces extend the beam from 15 to 19 feet, significantly increasing deck space while bringing guests closer to the water. Two adaptable U-shaped seating areas transform into a spacious sunbed, while the galley can be fitted with optional BBQ and TV features for all-day entertaining. A slide-out stainless-steel swim ladder with teak steps ensures easy water access.

Up front, the bow offers another full-beam relaxation area. Forward-facing loungers with adjustable armrests are complemented by practical features like cup holders and phone storage. A central hatch provides direct access to the anchoring system, with additional compartments for fenders and dock lines.

An expansive hardtop roof includes integrated storage for watersports gear, while a hidden aft slide-out awning offers additional shade when needed. Subtle LED lighting throughout enhances the vessel’s modern look after dark.

Performance, Technology & Design

Powered by twin 600 HP Mercury Verado V12 engines, the 45 Sport uses double-stepped hull technology to reach speeds exceeding 50 mph, with efficient cruising between 30–40 mph. Its catamaran hull is engineered to reduce drag, improve efficiency, and deliver a smoother ride.

Constructed using a vinylester vacuum infusion process, the hull prioritizes strength and durability. The vessel also meets CE certification standards for B, C, and D categories.

At the helm, four forward-facing seats provide comfort and protection, complete with armrests and bolster cushions. The layout reflects the vessel’s modern design while ensuring intuitive operation. Controls for digital switching, audio, lighting, navigation, and engine systems are ergonomically arranged for ease of use.

Onboard systems include three recessed 16-inch chartplotters, a Fusion Apollo marine stereo, and a C-Zone display for DC switching and monitoring an optional lithium battery system that can power off-grid air conditioning. LED lighting is integrated both above and below deck.

Additional practical features include a hot/cold freshwater shower, stainless steel safety gates, and generous storage across deck compartments and seating areas.

Comfortable Overnight Accommodation

Below deck, the 45 Sport offers a spacious cabin finished with light wood laminate, hardwood accents, and durable synthetic flooring. A large skylight fills the interior with natural light. The space includes a king-size bed and a private wet head with shower.

Other amenities include LED reading and accent lighting, upholstered wall panels, ample storage, and AC power outlets for convenience.
