Maritimo strengthens New Zealand presence with new factory direct consultants
Auckland, NZ (28 August 2025) – Luxury motor yacht manufacturer Maritimo has expanded its footprint in New Zealand, appointing Motor Yacht Service Centre as its new authorised sales partner.
For more than 20 years, the Auckland-based company has provided dedicated service, warranty and support to Maritimo owners across the country. Now, under the leadership of Dean and Glynis Ryder, along with their daughter Sophie and son-in-law Shanon Robertson, Motor Yacht Service Centre will represent Maritimo directly from its Hobsonville Marina base.
Dean Ryder, who has specialised in marine service for four decades, said the family’s approach has always been hands-on.
“Wherever they need our support, we fly or travel to meet them,” he said. “We’ve kept pace with changes in design, construction, engineering and the finer details. We believe we’re uniquely placed to sell Maritimo because we have serviced and supported them from the start.”
Over the years, the Ryders have built a reputation for meticulous attention to detail, earning the confidence of yacht owners, captains and contractors alike. Now with a second generation stepping into the business, the operation has evolved into a family enterprise offering full-service support – from sales and custom builds through to upgrades, service packs and warranty.
Dean said Maritimo’s strong performance in New Zealand waters reflects the brand’s DNA.
“They have been designed for our conditions. They’re robust, well-built, they handle the heavy seas and the weather, and they’re ideal for cruising the South Pacific. Owners love their Maritimo. We have service plans for around 80 and there are about 200 or so in New Zealand.”
Interest is growing across Maritimo’s new-generation range, from the flagship M75 and S75 through to the entry-level models.
“Several M75s have been sold into New Zealand, including the first M75, Talisman. We were involved in the design and engineering of that boat and we go to great lengths to support them, including travelling to Indonesia and throughout Asia-Pacific,” Dean said.
“The new M50 Flybridge will also open the brand to new buyers and broaden Maritimo’s market. We look forward to showcasing the range at the Auckland On-Water Boat Show in March and the Hutchwilco Boat Show in May.”
The Motor Yacht Service Centre currently employs 12 staff and up to 30 contractors, and is preparing for its next chapter – the construction of a 900-square-metre, purpose-built Maritimo sales and service facility overlooking Auckland Harbour. The new building is expected to be completed within the next 12 months.
“With Dean’s experience, Glynis’s organisational strengths and the next generation bringing digital expertise and energy, our family is ready to take this to the next level,” said Shanon Robertson.
Dean added: “It’s an absolute privilege and we’re humbled to join Maritimo in this capacity. Our 20-year apprenticeship stands us in a strong position to represent Maritimo in New Zealand. It has been a long time coming, and it’s well worth the wait.”
